Due to space limitations imposed by the Chamber of Commerce we cannot accept anymore applications/competitors to this event. We reached our maximum capacity on our allotted space. Please read below and feel free to visit the festivities offered below as a spectator and root for your favorite team.

The Clovisfest Red Hot & Real BBQ Championship is held in cooperation with the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and the annual ClovisFest. This annual event draws over 70,000 people of all ages and this year it is having the second annual The Red Hot & Real Barbeque Championship Cookoff. The city of Clovis has prepared an entire area for the BBQ so there will be plenty of room for the biggest of teams from all over the western states. This event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.

There will be plenty of room for your team. RV space may be limited. It is very important to let us know if you will need a large space. The four KCBS meats will be judged beginning at 12:00 on Saturday.(see below) Cash and trophies will be awarded at the event. If you have items to sell, like BBQ Sauce, T-Shirts, hats, etc, must have approval from the event promoter.

This year, in addition to the KCBS Sanctioned competition, on Sunday there will be a special event contest To Be Announced, and Sunday will also feature an open competition consisting of tri-tip and chicken (meat will be provided), with prizes down to 3rd place! There is no entry fee to participate in the fun. Sunday's Open will give you an opportunity to be creative. Use your own plate and any garnish! If you would like to compete on Sunday, please mark the appropriate box on the event entry form. In addition, if you would like a CD containing pictures from last year's event, mark the box on the entry form and include a separate check made payable to Pat Brandon. Grand Champion - Trophy, $3,000.00 and will receive a Big Green Egg!
Reserve Grand Champion - Trophy and $1,500.00
First place in each category - Trophy and $500.00
Second place in each category - Trophy and $250.00
Third place in each category - Trophy and $100.00
Fourth place in each category - Trophy and $75.00
Fifth place in each category - Trophy and $50.00
Sixth to Tenth place in each category - Medals
Cash prize amounts will be announced closer to the event. Amounts will be published at least 60 days prior to the event.

2:15 Anthing Butt (2:10 p.m. – 2:20 p.m.)
